In this hands-on research role, successful candidates will develop state of the art optical techniques for nano-bio platforms and maintain/upgrade Nanobiosym's advanced optical workbenches, including supporting data acquisition and analysis programs.
Position requirements:
- PhD or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, Physics or related field with 5+ years relevant research experience.
- Extensive hands-on experience in the design, construction and maintenance of optical workbenches with laser sources.
- Advanced Labview and Matlab programming experience.
- Strong understanding of optical theory in order to confidently troubleshoot and refine optical designs.
- High precision optical alignments.
- In addition to impeccable technical skills, successful candidates possess strong organizational, communication and team skills, and thrive in a fast-paced start-up environment.
Preferred skills:
- Additional experience in mechanical CAD, machine shop and opto-mechanical techniques.
- Experience with acousto-optic deflectors/modulators/high precision optics.
- Signal to noise optimization (vibration isolation).

02.26: Microfluidics Engineer/MEMS
Nanobiosym, Inc is seeking candidates to work in a dynamic team environment of physicists, engineers, and biologists. You will develop, characterize and troubleshoot microfluidics and bio-mems based systems.

02.26: Nucleic Acids Biochemist/Molecular Biologist
Working with a multidisciplinary start-up team you will develop, characterize and troubleshoot protocols for biochemical assays in nano-platforms. Efforts include optimization of biochemical assays, surface chemistry and immobilization techniques for proteins and nucleic acids.
Position requirements:
- PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biomedical Engineering or related field with 7+ years relevant research experience.
- Research experiences in replication and transcription and other DNA protein interactions.
- Demonstrated success in developing and optimizing in vitro enzyme assays.
- Expert proficiency in the use of standard molecular biology techniques (DNA sequencing, cloning, mutagenesis).
- In addition to impeccable technical skills, successful candidates possess strong organizational, communication and team skills, and thrive in a fast-paced start-up environment.
- Experience immobilizing biomolecules onto various surfaces.
Preferred skills:
- Expertise in enzyme kinetics.
- Fluorescent tagging of biomolecules.
